Amazon.com Review: By crushing coffee beans rather than grinding them, this electric mill produces uniform granules to preserve flavor and aroma. The machine can be adjusted for fine (espresso), medium (drip), or coarse (percolator) granules. The bean container holds enough for up to 20 cups of coffee, and a dial controls the amount of time the mill operates so varying amounts of beans can be crushed. Both the bean and coffee containers can be removed for easy operation. A 1-1/2-tablespoon scoop is included, and its angled handle doubles to scrape away excess particles of coffee. With both containers in place, the mill, clad in black plastic, measures 8-1/2 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches high, and 5 inches deep. --Fred Brack

Rating: - Be aware of the pitfalls!
This was a gift from my kids. I like my coffee! But . . .
Although it does grind the beans, there are several items to be aware of: 1)The grind process creates a light coating of coffee on your counter over a 1' radius. 2)There is a great deal of static buildup on the receiver cup. When you take off the lid - the static will cause more 'spillage' (You can, at times, see the ground coffee jump out of container as you remove the lid). 3)The grinder needs constant attention to making sure the beans are not jamming up. You need to use a wooden probe (chop stick, etc.) to move the beans around ... Read More

The motor on my B&D grinder burned out after only 6 months of very light use (on average every two weeks), so needless to say, I won't be purchasing another B&D. In fact, many of their products seem to be below parr these days.
Rating: - I've never seen the static electricity problem.....
I am looking for one of these units for my sister and thus I started reading the reviews after finding the product available on Amazon. I have had my grinder for 14 months and use it about every four days and I have never had a problem with static. Sometimes (but almost never) a very fine small cloud of coffee dust comes out of top of the catch container, but it really does not make a mess. It just dissepates. I have no cracks or broken parts at all, I have never had a clog nor have I ever cleaned out the shoot beyond giving it a little tap at the end of the cycle. I don't get it. I love mine. ... Rating: - Ok performance until it broke.
This Grinder lasted me a bit over a year grinding, on average, about 4 hoppers a week. Burr Grinders are not supposed to be cheap, and this product illustrates why. It feels a little chinzy; the parts mate, but not very convincingly~ when you've got the lid on or the hopped attached, or whatever, you don't get any reassuring click or tactile feeling that they're in the right place. Due to such fittings, coffee grounds would occasionally escape while grinding, but just a light dusting on the countertop. I'd say the knobs, etc feel like toys, except that any toy this flimsy would be trashed in a week. ... Read More
