Rating: - Add cool or ice water...it's comparable to commercial product
It's a fantastic product that I've been using for over two years. It impressed a winemaker so much that I'm giving one to his fiance for her birthday. It does chill faster when plugged in, but also works well cordless. Best way to use it is to place chill cells and bottle, then add cold water or put a few cubes on top. It's way better than chilling in an ice bucket and also works nicely for serving by just dumping water out after wine is chilled.

This is a fantastic chiller. If your cells are very well frozen, the chiller does work as advertized. I have used this chiller for 3 years on regular bottles and magnums of wine, as well as other bottled and canned beverages. I love it!

My fiance bought this as a gift for me over 2 years ago. I have gotten so much use from it and all my friends love it. I never have a problem with it not getting whine cool enough. It is the same concept as putting wine in ice water, but this device vibrates which makes the cold action quicker. I have used it on numerous occasions when we've had guests over and need more cold wine quick. We recently received a new wine chiller that allows you to set the type of wine to chill. Ok! I love this product, not sure why it is getting such low reviews. I have bought 3 as gifts. I didn't pay $50 as I had a coupon so at $40, I think it is value. Yes a bucket and ice works just as well with water, but then you deplete most of your ice stock and need to rotate the bottle by hand. I would only use 7 minutes on chardonnay, otherwise I would use 15 minutes, but if you are that uptight about the next 8 minutes.. you are a bigger boozer than I am. Wine is way colder than putting in the freezer or an icebath for 20 and you still have ice for mixed drinks.

I received this item as a gift last christmas. We loved it. We are avid wine drinkers and collectors, mostly reds though, so I did not have alot of space in my wine fridge for whites (and the temp is set for my reds). This was a great gift for us, I find it gets VERY cold VERY fast. It even puts a little more chill on my wine than suits my palate, however, my husband does like his colder than I do, so I pour first and replace to chill a little longer for him. I too am very shocked at the low stars for this product. I am trying to find more to give as gifts this year.
