Editorial Review:

Product Description:
The high strength handle has soft touch rubberized sides for a firm grip. The bowed head allows for an efficient rocking motion during the mashing process. Potatoes won't stick, and your mashing won't harm your dish or non-stick pan either!

Amazon.com Review:
The face of Calphalon’s durable potato masher features a grid pattern on a bowed surface enabling the tool to rock back and forth for greater efficiency. Lightweight and durably constructed, the tool won’t scratch or stain and its functional end resists temperatures up to 400 degrees F. The nylon material safely works with any nonstick or hard-anodized cookware while the comfortable Santoprene handle provides a cushioned, slip-free hold. The product measures 11-1/4 by 4 by 3-1/4 inches; hand washing is recommended for best long-term results. -- Amy Arnold

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Don't Buy from Amazon - it costs only $4.99
If you are considering buying this item, look somewhere else. Amazon charges $6.26, yet in fact this item should cost only $4.99. I was really annoyed when I received this item and found out from the packaging lable that the suggested price is $4.99.

I called Amazon, and they said that they can advertise whatever price they want. That's just so wrong.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works great!
I've used the masher several times and it works very well! It is sturdy and stands up to the "mixing" part of making mashed potatoes while adding the milk or sour cream.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Almost a 'must' if you 'mash' in the pot....
The only (quality) non-stick 'masher' (closer to 'ricer') I have seen. It appears sturdy enough to take care of any 'mashing' that needs to be done in a non-stick or anodized aluminum pot.
