Rating: - Great quality, great design
Seriously, when I first saw them in Staples, without a display model, the box shoved into a corner, and the incredibly decent price tag, I was skeptical. But this purchase turned out to be simply awesome.
Really, though, these speakers are not meant to... project, I guess you could say. Turning the volume up too high results in some distortion. So really, these are meant for private listening from just several feet away.
Desktop speakers, basically. That's their intent, so keep that in mind.
The quality, though, is simply amazing. Very clear and crisp. And ... Read More
Rating: - Wow! What great speakers!
I just bought these speakers, and they are top quality. They aren't like $500 Bose top quality, but they are incredible for their price. The subwoofer works really well, and the speakers have really clear sound. I have these hooked up to my iBook, and I would not be suprised if they had really clear sound on my Gamecube or Xbox. These speakers are worth the price.
Please do take notice that the subwoofer does not have a magnetic field thingy around it. So if you have the subwoofer sitting beside your $1,200 laptop, switch the position of the subwoofer, or your computer will really mess ... Read More
Rating: - Good Price, bad Outcome.
Cyber Acoustics 3 speaker system has a definite appeal and it's physical appearence is as tempting as its low price. The style is great. The sound is mediocre. The potential risk, however, is not worth the price. A few days afer my purchase of the Cyber Acoustic's CA- 3095 system, the keyboard and track pad on my macbook completely shut down. I had to call tech support and pull out the battery and reset the power management system. After I fixed my computer, I looked down and remebered that there is a warning sticker on the back of their subwoofer explaing that it is not magnetically sheilded and may ... Read More
Rating: - If you have a Notebook P.C, these are a must have...
I've had a Compaq Notebook for about six months now, and I am really happy with the computer as a whole. The worst feature of my computer is definitely the integrated Altec-Lansing speakers. No matter how much I fiddled with the equalizer in iTunes, I just couldn't get the sound right, so I've been compelled to listen to my music with headphones.
While in Circuit City, I happened upon these speakers and thought they must have been priced wrong, (at $35 bucks). So I decided to give them a try.
First; the speakers look nice. The black and silver accents match well with my notebook, and look ... Read More
Rating: - Shielding not adequate
I was hoping these shielded speakers would cut out cell phone interference, but if my phone is closer than about 18 inches, i.e., on the desk, I get the annoying noises from the satellite speakers. On the plus side, a separate bass level control on the right satellite (along with master volume and headphone jack) is very convenient and critical in my opinion to acheiving the right balance at the right volume. I lowered the highest trebel levels on my iTunes equalizer, and I think the resulting sound is fine for a PC system. However, I'm returning mine and getting a system with better shielding.
