Life is so much easier with a second tray to hold legal size paper, rather than empty and switch that we had been doing. A good investment

I ordered the 2nd paper tray for my MFC-8640N from Amazon - which is easy enough but it arrived very quickly and bing bang it was installed and working great. The price was great too.

I got my printer as a reconditioned unit, so this tray was relatively expensive. It was still worth it as a time saver. With this 2nd tray, I don't have to open the paper tray just to print on different paper. The Multi-Use paper option works, but that requires me to go over to the printer to open the MP tray door, and set the paper correctly, and to remove any extras I didn't need, after I print.

I enjoy the added convenience that the additional tray has given to me. I print large packages of documents and use both letter and legal sized paper. When printing (I have a Brother HL-5250DN Printer) using the second tray, it will automatically choose the correct paper size to print on. I love this feature. Before having added the additional tray, I had to take my time and choose all of the letter sized documents, then go through all of the documents and print the legal sized ones. Buy the tray. It significantly enhances the MFC's capability and you're going to end up wanting it anyway.
