After cancelling satellite subscription I wanted to see what's available over the air in San Diego area. On a piece of wire I got 1, sometimes 2 channels. Ordered this antenna due to its compact size (I live in a condo and could not install anything sticking outside). I put this antenna on a balcony on a shelf behind some plants and was able to receive all digital channels for San Diego area plus some from Los Angeles. The powered amplifier seems to be working quite well - when connected directly the signal on one of the channels (15) was about 61, after connecting the power it changed to 81, which ... Read More
Rating: - The best one I've tried so far...
This was my third digital antenna, and it seems to be the most consistent.
Still, the signals are not consistently pulled in, and quality seems to change from day-to-day without the antenna moving. I'm in a part of Dallas that should get all the channels with a strong signal, but I can not get ABC at all, and Fox is hit-or-miss, usually requiring a redirection compared to all of the other channels that come in well.
While this has been the best digital antenna I've gotten for my TV, I've finally given in to Time Warner cable, as their HD Cable/Digital Phone/Digital Internet ... Read More
Rating: - Easy to set up.
I bought this to replace my analogue-only indoor Terk antenna. Simply installing this on a pole on my apartment's balcony was all it took to receive every available digital channel in the Los Angeles area. Signal strength is consistently strong, and the picture clarity is amazing. Works great with the Insignia DTV converter box for older TVs.

I was looking for a indoor HDTV capable antenna after bought the new Sharp Aquos LC37D64U 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV(The TV is great! The white glove delivery was superb). After days of reading through most of the reviews on different antennas I wanted to try "GE 24775 Quantum Indoor HDTV Antenna" but Amazon.com was out of stock. Even though my rabbit ear antenna was able to receive some HD signals but the signals were unstable so after a few days I couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to try Terk or Philips PHDTV1 antennas but I saw Lowes got this Philips Mant940 antenna and not too much more than what ... Read More
Rating: - Deceptively small for such good performance
Although I live in New York City, I am behind a series of tall hills, all higher than 250 feet, so signal strength is generally poor here. I compared this unit to a "4 bay" antenna, and found it to be very superior. I am using approximately 125 feet of coax, with no issues. NOTE-- This antenna, since it is flat, does have a "figure 8" pattern of sensitivity. The flat sides are not as sensitive, aim the narrow side to the station. NY City has a total of 52 TV stations, but that is over a 190 degree arc. I have found that a rotor allows me the full spectrum of UHF stations. A bonus for me is it's small ... Read More
