Just installed the 1139 WinTV on my Dell Laptop. The process took only a few minutes. The longest part was the search for channels that the software does before you can start watching TV. I encountered no problems and was able to receive about 6 HD digital signals in amazing clarity and about 8 analog signals on my PC. Of course the receiver is only as good as the reception in the area you are using it in. The antenna that comes with the system is about 4 inches but you can also connect to your cable input if you so desire.

The first one I bought a couple of years ago is on my desk top. Very convienent. This one is on my lap top and is much easier to install, compact and works great!

When piping analog cable TV into the WinTV-HVR-950 the picture looks great. I run Windows XP SP2. The Quick Installation Guide suggests (in small print) to download the latest drivers and encoders from Hauppage's website. To do this, download the file http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/install_cd/cd_4.6a.zip and use File Explorer to explore into the ZIP file. Copy and paste the "CD_4.6A" folder out of the ZIP file and into a folder on your hard disk, i.e. extract the contents of the ZIP file. Rating: - Great product for watching TV on you computer notebook.
This product works just as described. I put in the disc and downloaded the product. I pluged it in the USB outlet and then set up the location and scanned for stations. Then I started watching TV! I had no problems with the install and I am using Windows Vista. After about 1 hour the connection with the antenna does feel hot to the touch. But, no problems as of yet.

Doesn't pick up well using it's own antenna for analog nor digital broadcasts in my area where rabbit ears work fine. Using the cable connection, picture is fuzzy and intermittent. Only kept because of travel needs.
