This nutritional scale is a very easy way to measure carbohydrates (for diabetics) and other nutrition information from a wide variety of foods. The scale "zeros" out a plate (or other food), then you weigh the food, enter a code associated with that food, select the nutritional information desired, and read off the results. The booklet is very sturdy and wipes clean. Foods are sorted alphabetically, which makes them very easy to find. I love it, only problem I had with it is that it arrived with a wrapped yet dead battery. It gave me a heart attack but after I put a new battery in its been running perfect. Very accurate and durable.
