I have had this knife for almost a year and use it all the time. I would highly recommend it. The blade has remained sharp and continues to cut everything beautifully.
Rating: - Quality Knife
We have been very pleased with all of the Henckels products we own, and this knife is no exception. I use my santoku knife almost exclusively. This particular knife was also made in Germany--there are some cheaper versions of Henckels knives that were made in China, if that makes any difference to you when choosing which knife to buy.
Rating: - Great knife to replace some knives in the kitchen
It is hard to say one brand is better than the other when all the brands have different variations of one type. I suggest buying the knife based on usage and how the handle suits you. Most of the high quality knives are similar in construction but the handles are different in each one. It is better to go with the handle you feel most comfortable with, I believe the grip is very important in terms of control.
A good suggestion is maintaining it using a high quality sharpener or taking it to be sharpened.

Rating: - Best Santoku - Made in Germany
This is the best and lightest Santoku I have owned. If you can still get it, buy it. You will love it.
Rating: - Interesting knife
Good balance - great for light-duty chopping and mincing where you want to be close to (or directly over) the blade for control. All claims about grippy foods not sticking to the blade are bunk - tomatoes (etc) stick like they do to any other non-dimpled blade. High quality metal. Recommended if you find your standard chef's knife lacking for control.
