Rating: - Get that new-can-opener feeling
You have to, must really, read the instructions. This very great device opens cans in a new way that is so slick, safe and easy you will wonder why you've messed around with sharp edges, icky fingers and half-open chili. Takes off lid so nicely you can re-use it, like for dog food. Throw out those tired old neanderthal openers. This is the way to go.

As mentioned previously, this can-opener opens cans through the side of the rim, not cutting through the top. This ensures no sharp edges; though it's a bit harder to turn, (if I had arthritis, this would not be my opener of choice). Though initially expensive, you get what you pay for in this case. Kuhn Rikon quality and durability that has lasted me 6 years, (and still running), coupled with classic good-looks. I don't plan on buying another one of these, and I'm quite sure I won't have to.

I hated using a hand-held can opener! I had to wrestle it onto the can, use super human might to actually turn it, and ended up with jaggedy edges on which I inevitably cut myself. So I just always used my electric can opener, banishing the hand-held monstrosity to the back of the drawer.
