Editorial Review:

Product Description:
With the One Touch can opener, opening a can has never been easier. Just place the One Touch on the top of the can, press the button, and the cordless opener automatically travels around can. It opens in seconds, and because the One Touch can opener cuts from the side, there are no sharp edges to cut your fingers on. Magnet keeps dirty lid from dropping in. 2 "AA" batteries required (not included).

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A very regrettable purchase indeed
I bought this can opener because it seemed like a dream come true. Like any reasonable and lazy person, I figured I shouldn't be wasting my precious time cranking the knob on a can opener when it could do it for me! More realistically, I have no counter space for a full-size automatic can opener, and I figured this thing would free my hands up and let me multi-task better in the kitchen. And on first examination, this sleek bad-boy seemed like a real winner.

Then I tried using it.

Sure, the first time out it's fun watching this lustrous white blob of plastic slowly, ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Great at first -- then, big disappointment!
When I first got this product, I would've given it a five-star rating, as it really did the job and was fun to use. However, after a few weeks I had an episode where the battery died (w/o warning) and I could not pry the opener from the can lid. Called customer support and they told me what to do, and that finally worked, but it wasn't easy!

Had this problem a couple more times, and then started having the problem where the opener would just go 'round and 'round the can, long after the can was totally opened, and wouldn't stop no matter what I did! Worse yet, you cannot get the lid ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Can Opener for Those of Us with Wrist Problems
I've had sore wrists for some time due to overuse in work and play, so this thing is a real godsend. We use the opener every day without problems. Just put the One-Touch on top of the can, press the big button and go do something else while it goes round and round. It stops automatically after about 30 seconds and the lid adheres magnetically to the One-Touch for easy disposal. Batteries last about 90 days with daily use. I can tell when they are starting to die by the changing sound of the One-Touch. Only drawback is that it leaves a sharp edge on the can itself. We use a plastic lid from ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Good idea, bad design
I loved this can opener at first. It was, and still is, nice to press a button and it opens. The biggest pro is that the lid isn't sharp like with the regular can openers. Although the top can edge is a bit sharper than with a regular can opener. - My fiancee cut his hand scoopping out wet dog food. As others say, it eats battery power fast. -For me, I might open 8 cans (max) on one set of batteries. And I don't notice any slowing down, it just dies. Everytime the battery has died while cutting open a can. The first time mine ran out of batteries, I broke the can opener prying it off the can. ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - One Touch Automatic Can Opener
One-Touch Automatic Can Opener- White(29101) I thought I had found a miracle can opener! In preparation for hand surgery, I purchased two of these and they both became inoperable within two months. I changed batteries, but did not phone the mfr as I had read online that it was fruitless to do that. I was able to return one of the can openers & have just thrown away the other. A total waste of money!
