Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Make the most of your microwave's ability to pop corn with this special bowl and base. You'll find the corn pops faster and there are far fewer "old maids" left in the bottom.

Amazon.com Review:
Sized to fit most microwave ovens, including compacts, this popcorn maker pops virtually every kernel of 3 quarts of popcorn in about 2-1/2 minutes. And it works with or without oil and/or salt. That means no more of the unpopped, scorched kernels typically left behind when popping bagged corn.

The popcorn maker uses two innovations that concentrate microwave radiation onto the popcorn. First is a removable base that locks onto the transparent bowl. Second is a disposable paper cup that fits into the bowl's bottom. A package of eight cups accompanies the unit, and others can be purchased separately--each is good for about 12 batches when used with oil or 24 without oil. Both bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe. The popcorn maker is 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches high and carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Like this alot
I have used this now for about 10-15 times. The popcorn pops really quickly and comes out great. The only bad part about the product is having to purchase the liners . They need to come up with a permanent one that you can take out and clean to reuse.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Can't believe there are good reviews
After reading the good reviews we purchased this popper. WOW!! WAS THIS A DISAPPOINTMENT. The papers last maybe 4 times (if we're lucky) Forget using oil, spray etc of any sort. The papers are good for one time only. We have used several different brands of popcorn including the recommended one. And nothing makes a difference. We bought the unit at Wal-Mart and when we go back to buy more papers we find out they don't handle the paper for the popper. So if we want to continue to use it we have to order and pay a shipping cost. It's not worth the money or the bother. As far as the popcorn it pops ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - much better than microwave popcorn bags
great popper - love that you can use it with oil or not. just like Orville says "most every kernel pops". Now I need to try with some flavored oils. YUM

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Whoa - Microwave popcorn can be this fantastic?
I got tired of making popcorn in my Stir Crazy popcorn maker simply because of the smell that permeated the house every time I made a snack. (OK, that would be nightly.) So I gave this PowerPop a try and WOW! Not only is there less smell making it in the microwave, but it rocks out much better popcorn than the StirCrazy - which surprises me saying that because I've been using the StirCrazy for some, what - 20 years (ack!) and swore nothing could ever surpass it.

Wrong - The PowerPop makes it better and with much less mess.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing Popper!
I was REALLY skeptical of this Presto Popper, but my Boss insisted that it worked great. I had been using an old-fashioned "stirring paddle" pot with hand crank that was messy to clean but gave great results. With this Presto, you pop in a removable disk at the bottom (my original disk is still working after nearly two months), pour 2 tablespoons of peanut oil on top of the disk, and then add about 1/3 cup of popping corn. The result is amazing -- it pops nearly every kernel and cleans up easily. I have stopped using my old popper. HINT: To really get that theater popcorn taste, order some ... Read More
