I purchased this product because it was recommended by Cook's Illustrated as a best buy. It has worked very well. My fiance and I cook a lot and our old garlic press was hard to press more than one clove at a time and very hard to clean. With this press, you can fill the hopper full of cloves and it takes very little effort to press the garlic; all of the clove is pressed out and only the paper remains. This is my first garlic press so I don't have much to compare it to..but I love it. I actually find myself looking forward to using it! It has substantial weight to it and consistently does a thorough job of crushing up to 2 or 3 cloves at a time. And it's very easy to clean too!
Rating: - worth every penny
Bought this garlic press thanks to the other reviewers. I had the oxo one which essentially just mashed the garlic down to the bottom of the press. This one works a million and one times better. Presses almost all the garlic, so just a slight pulp left in the bottom of the press. Can do 2-3 cloves at once. Does take a bit of grip strength to use, but I did not find that to be an issue. I gave the oxo one to my boyfriend but we ended up just throwing it away as it was fairly useless.

I have been using this in my kitchen for ~6 months now and am very happy with the way it functions. It is solid and heavy, and does its job well.
Cleaning is fair, but the plastic grips actually cover sturdy but hollow handles, that could over time allow for leakage in soaking or in the dishwasher. It is well built, and in the time I have had it it has not allowed water to seep through, but I foresee this design leading to water accumulation in the handle a few years down the road.
