Rating: - Reliable and Efficient Fan, Although Expensive
I bought this fan from a local hardware store during a heat-wave last summer, so I wasn't able to shop around for the best priced model. I paid about $90, and was a little hard-pressed to justify the expense since similarly sized fans were priced at about $20-30. But with a year behind me, I know that the additional expense was well worth it: the fan is compact, efficient, stylish, and well-made.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so the climate is generally mild throughout the year and air-conditioning is rarely needed or available. So, I can't attest to how well the fan works ... Read More
Rating: - Good fan, but not "whisper quiet."
I like this fan. It is powerful, doesn't take up much space, and is easy to clean. However, don't believe the product description that says it is whisper quiet. It is actually rather loud at the medium and high settings. That said, I'm not sure it's possible for any fan to be "whisper quiet" when it's moving as much air as this fan does at the medium and high settings.
The lowest setting is fairly quiet, although still not much more quiet than any other fan. At least there are no rattling parts.
