I received this fan for Christmas, and I am extremely pleased. I needed a fan to cool my media room which is full of all sorts of high tech equipment, which in turn make the room a little toasty. I bought a few fans for this purpose, and each one I tried was too loud. The variable control on this fan lets me adjust the noise level and the air circulation amount to where I get just the right balance. I was at Costco shopping for a fan for our den. We have 11 foot ceilings and needed something to help keep it cooler. I live in Alabama and our AC bill in July and August is huge.
I noticed the Vornado (210 model) was $69.95 and picked it up on the recommendation of a Costco employee who was passing by.
The amount of air this product will move is outstanding! It creates a breeze in the entire room. Put it behind a chair and turn it on and you will never want to go without it.
Highly recommended and I am going to buy another for the kitchen.

I borrowed this fan from my roommate at school, and I have become addicted to it! It is running 24/7, and it really keeps my dorm room cool and comfortable. Also, it is nice that it has a knob instead of a switch to control the speed, because it allows for a larger range of settings. This fan is actually fairly quiet until you put it on the highest range of settings, and even then it is not that loud for the amazing amount of air that it moves. I just got ahold of this fan today and I must say that I've never used a fan quite like this one. Once I turned it on I proceeded to turn it to its highest setting, and was a little surprised at how loud it was. The noise was justifiable however, as the huge torrent of air made me feel like this was some industrial strength fan. At low settings the noise is pretty whisper quiet, and it moves a lot of air even at that setting, which was pretty surprising.
