My husband and I have multiple Vornado circulators (what they call their unique air moving design fans), and have always felt their products were superior enough to other fans that the costs were merited. When I saw the "zippi" I definitely decided it was a "personal" fan, and no more, and people who are dissatisfied with them weren't paying attention to the manufacturer's description of these fans. This is the same as the FA1-0007-06, except in a blister pack. The other one is in a box, and about $8 cheaper. I was expecting with a bigger part number and price, it would be a bigger fan.
Otherwise, I love this little fan! It seems the lack of housing makes it very quiet.

I just got one of these as a gift and I think it is awesome. It is pretty quiet, delivers a good breeze, and you can put your hand in the fan blade to amuse yourself or to amuse your friends.
This is a desk fan for one person, it is a small personal fan. It is not meant to cool a room.
