We got these knives as a bridal shower gift in 2002 for our wedding from my great-aunt. We got the 8 piece set in the brown wooden box. True the box is not the greatest, but it doesn't really matter because the knives are what matter. The only reason tbe box matters is if you are giving the item as a gift, then of course you would want it to look ok (which ours did) but it doesn't have to hold up to much wear and tear. These knives are very nice. My husband has been pleased. Cut meat very easily. Clean up nicely. Overall a very good purchase!

Comparing these knives to the rest of the available choices is unfair. They have great weight and balance and cut very well.

They are OK, but not what I expected from a Wusthof product. I considered returning them, but decided they are workable and it wasn't worth the trouble.

This set was a gift to our daughter and son-in-law. It complemented their modern china and flatware well. When we used them for Christmas dinner, they handled easily, were well-balanced, and rested well on the plate. From a reputable firm such as Wusthof, I know they will give many years of service. I was pleased with our gift. The box is attractive enough to go on top of a buffet or on a shelf in a china cabinet.
