excellent product. heavier weight than most and very powerful. easy "on" button and good grip. eject buttons are simple and the unit is easy to clean. highly recommend it and the price is right.

This immersion blender is excellent. I read many reviews on different products and took the best features from each review and found this KitchenAid blender that satisfied all the requirements. One reviewer mentioned a metal shaft as opposed to a plastic shaft, another mentioned watts, another mentioned variable speeds. All of these features are found on this model, it is a very solid appliance. I did not need the add ons and saved lots of money that way. Rating: - Great hand blender for softer foods
The 2 piece design is great but as I experienced with this hand blender.... I have only used it 5 times and the plastic ribbed socket that drives the metal shaft for the blade has been rounded off b/c its so soft. So What this means is that the design is partially great, stong motor, strong blade but the weakest point is the plastic that drives everything. If you are making soup or something soft then it will never be a issue, if you intend to hit bits and pieces of frozen fruit then you will run into probelms. Rating: - does the job!
I've used this a couple times to make hummus. Of course, I don't need hummus to be smooth, so I don't know how it works in that manner, but it was easy to use, easy to clean and stores well. My finger got a little tired from holding the button, but there's other kitchen products that require more effort.

I have used this hand blender a few times to make soups. Works like a charm. I am very pleased with its performance and it makes preparing homemade soups very simple.
