Product Description: Original series lodge cookware. 10 in. Diameter. 3-1/2 in. Depth.
Amazon.com Review: Dating back to Colonial times, the Dutch oven, distinguishable by its three stubby legs, has long been used by many--from hunters to the Boy Scouts--to cook breads, soups, bean dishes, and even hot desserts. Just place whatever tempting ingredients are on hand together in this Dutch oven, and it will cook directly on the bed of hot briquettes. Dutch oven cooking can be a trial-and-error experience--it used to take many failures before one could obtain even and thorough cooking without burning. With this in mind, the manufacturer has provided recommended cooking times and temperatures as well as some great basic recipes. The pan will darken with use, improving its performance as a nonstick cookware. --Teresa Simanton

Rating: - Great for apple pie and cornbread!
I've had my 4-quart dutch oven for a couple of years now. It's just about the right size for cooking pies and breads. The oven is shallow enough to easily toast the top of the pie or bread when you're ready to finish things up. And after a couple of uses it was seasoned enough that I don't have a problem with food sticking to the sides or bottom of the pot.
Washing it is a snap too. A little warm water and a scrub brush and it only takes about a minute.
Rating: - High Quality American Made Oven -- "1 Star" needs education
I own two of these Lodge 10" Dutch ovens, as well as other sizes from 5" to 16". The gent that gives it one star should educate himself on the proper use of the oven. He should not judge a product that he knows nothing about. He should sell his DO to a party that appreciates the proper use and quality of the product. The Lodge Dutch ovens are great units if seasoned properly, and are extremely easy to clean with just hot water.
This oven is a great size for cooking side dishes, as well as cakes and cobblers. It is also perfect for RV travel. We cook 10" Sourdough Coffee Cakes ... Read More
Rating: - Man giving this '1 Star' should learn what Cast Iron is for!
I've owned two of these pots for years, and just bought another. I also use 14-16 other Cast Iron pieces from small to large skillets, griddles, chicken fryers..etc. You can't find a better method of cooking than with Cast Iron whether cooking indoors or out! It's one of the best investments you'll make of both your money and your time to care for it. At least your kids will 'have a relic' from these, unlike most any other cookware!
Rating: - Great Outdoor Cooking
This is an excellent item if you're going camping somewhere where you will be building a campfire. This is what it is meant for,it isn't designed for use indoors. You can't beat these for campsite stews. They are heavy so backpacking with them wouldn't work. They are perfect if you don't have to carry them very far.
Rating: - The man who gives this one star is WRONG!
Like him, I have had mine for many years. Some of the best food I've ever made has come out of this pot. It works well in the fireplace or on the stove. Cleaning and curing is a pretty simple task - yes the enameled pots are also great and easier to clean but they just don't work the way this does. Also, there's no enamel to chip on a real cast iron pot.
