First of All, I did NOT expect this to be more than what was advertised. I bought it as an experiment in bladecraft to make a slicing Chinese Cleaver for vegetable board work. There are four standard sizes of Kongmoon cleavers. The Kongmoon is the standard of the Chinese kitchens, usually with an integral metal handle.
As shipped, the tapered blade was sanded, but showed the forming blows. The edge was very thick and rough, and the back of the blade was almost 3/16 inch thick with a very slight taper from ferrule to tip. The size of the blade was perfect at 8 1/8 inches by 3 3/4 ... Read More
