Amazon.com Product Description: Enjoy sparkling high-definition programming without forking over monthly digital cable or satellite fees with this Philips indoor HDTV/UHF antenna. The device is specially designed to receive HD broadcast signals from the major free networks in all primary reception areas. If the affiliate broadcasts in HD, the PHDTV1 will receive it, provided the user also owns an HD-compatible television. The highly directional antenna features a high front-to-back ratio that helps reject unwanted signal corruption, ensuring that your picture comes in clear and true. This feature is especially valuable in dense urban areas with crowded broadcast airwaves, where reflected signals can interfere with HDTV transmission. The antenna also offers a flat front gain slope that balances the reception throughout the UHF frequencies. The result is a consistently high-resolution picture regardless of which channel you choose. The PHDTV1--which also connects to PCs anywhere datacasting is available--has been endorsed by several HDTV-testing committees.

Rating: - Amazing antenna with design flaw
This is my second silver sensor. These devices perform better than any "rabbit ears" I have ever used. However, the second one had a faulty cable connecter which I was unable to repair. I had attached a cable but could not unscrew it. I tried to use pliers to loosen it but only suceeded in twisting the wires until they broke.
Rating: - digital antenna - it works!
I got the antenna last night and I was skeptical that it would work after I opened the box. It doesn't plug into the wall? that perplexed me - because I was replacing an RCA analog antenna that did.
I re-ran the set up program to scan channels - and comparing the analog to digital - these are the results
RCA analog = 17 analog channels - only 6 that worked well
PHILIPS digital = 13 analog channels (more than half work well) - and 16 digital channels
Most of the digital channels were mirrors of the analog channels - but in 1080i definition ... Read More
Rating: - Excellent antenna for both analog and digital TV use - VHF and UHF
I purchased this item over a month ago in anticipation of getting the converter boxes necessary for over the air digital TV. I was using it on my old analog set and it brought in all my local stations, both VHF and UHF. I'm 20 miles west of Chicago and even CBS 2 (which is usually a fuzzy picture) came in fairly clearly. I just attached the digital converter box and was amazed that I got 10 more stations and a gorgeous clear picture on all stations without having to move the antenna position at all. I have it on top of a high bookcase behind the TV. The only problem is I cannot get a signal ... Read More
Rating: - An equal to Terk
Easier to assemble than the Terk. Antenna elements must be straightened (easy to do). Less expensive. Excellent reception through many walls.
Rating: - Exellent product
Compared to other Antennas I tried this was far superior. I can get a signal in a lot of places. It even got a signal in a basement with no windows.
