Pike Street corkscrew wine opener removes corks quickly and easily
Rating: - Kind of Complicated
Doesn't look like it will last forever and it is not the easiest to figure out if you have never used one of it's time at any other time. For the price, though, it was worth it.
Rating: - Could be nice...
If it wasn't so flimsy. The idea is very cool -- the top piece rotates 90 degrees so that the cork gets pulled upwards after you reach the bottom, but the whole thing is poorly constructed so it doesn't always work properly. Its difficult to get the cork out of the opener once you actually get it out of the wine bottle. I bought 4 of them (4 for 3 promotion) and it was $6.xx shipped (amzn prime) though, so I'm not complaining ;)

The design is simplicity at its best. However the quality is not as good as one I purchased 7 years ago.

It probably won't last very long.

The connection between the spindle and twist mechanism is very rough and is prone to jamming. Higher-quality machining would have avoided this problem. The connection between the spindle and "cage" is very loose; as a result the screw wiggles and it is very tricky to insert the screw straight into a cork. Worst of all, the cage is too narrow to accommodate a cork. This means once you get ... Read More
