Amazon.com: Founded in 1756, Austria’s Riedel Crystal is the world’s premier manufacturer of wine glasses and has always catered to the fine wine connoisseur. However, these wine tumblers are the company’s first attempt at producing a lower priced wine glass for casual entertaining. Like Riedel’s prestigious Vinum series of glasses, these tumblers are specifically designed for a particular grape varietal and still maintain their ability to enhance the flavors and aromas of the wines they were intended for. The only difference is that the tumblers are missing their stems, making them slightly less delicate to handle, more modern in appearance, and easier to fit in smaller cabinets, mini bars, picnic baskets, and the dishwasher.
The O series of glasses are made of machine-made of non-leaded glass. The large bowl shape of the two glasses in this set is specifically recommended to unleash the rich bouquet of white wines, such as Chardonnay. Each glass holds 20-3/4 ounces of wine, stands 3-5/8 inches tall, and is completely dishwasher-safe. --Cristina Vaamonde

Rating: - Lovely glass, hard to hold
These wine tumblers are typical of Reidel's high quality, but I find them a little hard to hold, and my hands are not particularly small. In any case, they couldn't be easier to clean and store, and I love using a wine glass without a stem. Highly recommended for wine lovers with big mitts!

This is a rather large glass, a bit clumsy to hold without the stem and in a comparison tasting, it seemed to me that the smaller Ouverture sized bowls evoked a richer aroma from Chardonnay.
A great deal of your experience of wine comes from the aromas that develop in the air above the surface of the wine. A glass that forces the wine to have a large surface area for its volume and then narrows to concentrate the vapors will increase the flavor experience. Glasses with a thin lip seem to interfere less with the taste of wine than thicker (and cheaper) glasses. The shape of the glass makes ... Read More
Rating: - tumblers
very lovely fragile tumblers, but too large to hold comfortably, woman's hand, very nice for male, larger hand, maybe to drink scotch
Rating: - Classy and Delicate
I love the reidel line of wine glasses, both stemless and with stems. They are delicate though so not for the clumsy (although maybe stemless is better for the klutz since it has less opportunity to fall over). They make great gifts!
Rating: - not a gimmick---the real deal
The Riedel "O" concept glasses may take a short while to accept, but once one realizes that a quality wine glass does not require a stem the rewards are many. The "O" glass line of products have made legendary glass maker Riedel's products affordable for the masses, while injecting an element of practicality for daily use. As a current owner of both traditional higher- priced Riedel stemware and these newer products, I find our "O" glasses are getting much higher use. They truly do enhance the flavors of good quality wines, while helping the wine drinker collect multiple glass ware designs at ... Read More
