Riedel's Wine series of glasses is among the company's machine-blown lead-free offerings and offers a decorative departure from other simpler styles. These Chardonnay glasses each have a slender, four-edged stem with three delicate ridges that encircle the base and the top of the stem and catch the light to make a beautiful presentation on a holiday table. The bowl shape follows the philosophy of Riedel's Vinum line of glasses, where each glass is uniquely developed for each type of wine. The glasses in this set of eight were specifically shaped to serve white wines, such as Burgundy (white), New World Chardonnay, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault, Montrachet, and Recioto di Soave. I had two sets of these glasses sent. Only one of them got there safely the other was in many pieces and was rejected. Amazon only recently informaed me they had gotten the return and creditted my account. These were sent prior to Christmas and should have been resent so they could have been there for the holidays.
