I received the Rival as a gift. This slow cooker is anything but slow. On the low setting, a 3 lb pot roast was over done in less than 2 hours. Instead of slow cooking you are slow boiling. I ruined a few meals with this crock pot and now I am looking to buy a new one.
Rating: - Cooks roast very tender
I tried this clow cooker for the first time today. I cooked a beef roast that turned out so tender. Put in secret item-one 12 ounce of diet coke with one cup of water and gravy mix. Roast was so tender. And I cook cheap cut of roast too. Cook on low heat for about 9 hours. Made the best gravy on rice. Don't know about durable of cooker as I just received it.

I had one of these in the past and when it broke,I tried other models. They can't touch the price and quality of this slow cooker. Plus the bonus Little Dipper was an added plus. I highly recommend this product. Will never consider another again.

Rival 64451LD 6.5 Quart Slow Cooker with Bonus Little Dipper Slow Cooker IS MORE THAN I EXPECTED! Fang Cai, my acupuncturist, urged me to get a crockpot to boil bones for bone marrow broth but cautioned that her's tended to over flow, so she said to be prepared by placing rags under the cooker. No overflow with our Rival--even with the water level at the brim! And it is so easy to use and handle that even my hard-to-please wife loves it. Lastly, washing is a breeze! P,S. The Bonus Little Dipper Slow Cooker is perfect for my single daughter, Shereen Saiki, who is also our acupuncturist.

We both work, 8, 12, 24 hour shifts, so the slow-cooker is a must-have in our household. There are tons of recipes online. It is easy to clean, looks pretty on display if you keep it clean. Is convenient for parties. It came with a Little Dipper, that is perfect for Queso, Fondue, melted choclate, and even 2 servings of diced sweet potatoes (which I find very hard to cook any other way). It brings out the best in any cut of meat. You can fill it the night before, and we use it with a timer for when we don't want it to start cooking the minute we leave, if we are going to be gone for 12 hours.
