We love our ScanPan Cookware collection but cannot take all the pots and pans on our sailboat. With limited galley space and small cooktop we have to think about what works best. This set has all the cookware needed for a small kitchen, or small household. The ideal size non-stick skillet as well as a decent size stew pot or chowder vessel. The other great benefit for sailors, campers, RV folk and small living spaces is that cleanup is so easy. There are no dishwashers in our galley, and only one small sink, with limited water supply. Rating: - ScanPans made from PTFE
The ScanPans are made from PTFE so they are hazardous to your health. These are not recommended because PTFE is known to be carcinogenic. Don't be fooled by ScanPans attempt to hide the fact that their products are made from PTFE which is known as Teflon.
Rating: - It did not last very long
We got a large sauce pan, 1 small and 1 medium size fry pans.
I was very excited the first time we got our Scanpans. I read about the new technology surrounding this product that supposedly to be non-stick for many years. Now we only have the big sauce pan left. We have to throw away the 2 fry pans.
They lasted a couple of years before it started to break (It starts to have some tiny holes on the surface which then exposed the metal base. We got worried that pieces of those material gets to our food that we decided it's time to get rid of it). The non-stick properties ... Read More
Rating: - Good while it last
I have both of these items for a few years and don't use them anymore. The skillet is not non-stick anymore and the dutch oven is flaking. So for a price of the set and a couple of years of use I don't think it's a good deal.
