These headphones use high-end materials and advanced engineering for critically clean, exceptionally clear sound aimed at professional and high-fidelity applications. The MDRV700DJ offers 3,000 mW power handling for the most stringent professional applications and daily use at very high output levels. Their Neodymium magnets pack more magnetic energy per ounce than conventional Ferrite, Samarium Cobalt, or Aluminum magnets for high sensitivity and output (107 dB/mW).
The headphones supra-aural design ensures excellent listening comfort, resting lightly on the ears, and creates a controlled environment for better sound. A wide, molded headband distributes the headphone's weight over your whole head; reduced pressure means comfortable listening for hours on end. The MDRV700DJ even has a serrated area on the plug that acts as a "hanger"--plugged into a rack of equipment, the headphones can hang on the plug when not in use.
Large, 50 mm drivers deliver deep bass down to an impressive subsonic 5 Hz and provide outstanding dynamic range, bolstered by Sony's use of a neodymium magnet for maximal energy from minimal size. A detachable, single-sided cord lets you listen at a distance of 10 feet from your source, while its oxygen-free-copper design delivers maximal conductivity with minimal noise.

Rating: - Amazing SOUND!
I'm not a DJ, but I DO LOVE music! These headphones make everything sound better! Sounds that I've never heard in songs are apparent with these! They are extremely comfortable, and that says a lot because I have a small head and it's been difficult to find headphones that I like. Highly recommended!
Rating: - Not Only For DJ's and Even For Classical
I bought these headphones for there great specs which they live up to. I listen primarily to classical music, but these are good for Rock and Pop as well. The bass is big, deep, and roomy. Your amplifier doesn't need much power to drive these and you can drive them to deafening loudness levels with no distortion. Even with the remarkable bass there is excellent imaging in the midrange and treble. The bass doesn't overpower the rest of the frequency range. Right now I am on the fence as which I would recommend: these Sony 700's or the Sony 7506's. The 7506's just seem a tad more accurate. If ... Read More
Rating: - A Very Satisfied Customer
Forget what you have read, these are the best dj headphones in the market (I should know, i'm a dj). i've had the same pair for two years straight. i'm guessing that the people who say they're flimsy doesn't take care of them. now for the review: they are very comfortable, they're loud (just the way i like it) because of their design, you don't hear the ambient noise at all (love that). if you're a dj, the single cup function is great. now the money maker:the bass, you just don't hear the bass, you feel it, they actually vibrate when the bass kicks in. in my opinion, these are the best headphones ... Rating: - There are better headphones out there
The first few months of owning these headphones they were great! But after that they decided to blow on me. I never pushed them to the max or anything like that to make them do so, even when playing live. I use the right side for djing while the left side sits on the side of my head most of the time, and of course the right side blew out. Pretty inconvenient. A few of my friends have had the same model and the same problem. And depending on how you wear your headphones as a dj they break at the joints quite easily too. I do admit that the sound quality and look is great, they are pretty uncomfortable ... Read More
Rating: - Tested against my friends Bose
I had to buy headphones for three reasons. 1. I live in an apartment that isn't "noise" friendly. 2. I love music and movies 3. I play music professionally and needed some good monitor headphones that sound like live shows (extra bass).
Ok Cons first.
1.Yes they are heavier then most headphones (get over this quickly unless you are old or you have the neck of a 4 year old child).
2. You will look ridiculous in these (unless your ego is as big as mine)
3. Thats all the cons
Now the pros
1. These Headphones kicked the crap out of my friends Bose ... Read More
