Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Will your child be wearing headphones on a long road trip? The MDR-222KD headphones were created to be easy on young ears, with moderate volume levels and a lightweight and comfortable design. Children eight years old and up will safely enjoy hours of their own personal soundtrack while you relax in silence.Your child will love the comfortable fit of these specially-designed headphones. The MDR-222KD headphones were designed with a child's head in mind. This allows the child to comfortably wear the headphones without strain that full sized headphones might cause as well as fit that eliminates the need to constantly adjust the headphones. The sensitive nature of children's ears has been taken into account by increasing the impedance on the headphones to try to eliminate volume issues that full sized earphones might cause. By sizing these headphones correctly your child can use these headphones on long trips very comfortably.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - They fit, but provide horrible sound
I purchased these headphones when I realized that the smallest size ear buds available for my daughters Sony walkmans were too big to stay in their ears. While they do fit my daughter they have one major problem. The claim that, "High impedance allows for low volume headphones", is really silly... because what it should say is "High impedance does not allow reasonable volume."

Yes your child will never suffer any hearing loss if they use these earphones, but then they will also never hear the music or video they are watching when they use them. The only option I have found to ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - perfect for 3 year old
We needed head phones for our 3.5 year old son. The ones that stick in your ears kept falling out. These perfectly fit on his head, he actually has to extend the headband a tiny bit, so I wouldn't worry about them being too big.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Worked well for little ears
Headphones are of good quality and fit the kids' heads well (6 and 3). The quality of the silence on a long drive was the best feature...

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Foam Covers
The foam cushions/covers came off really easy and my son lost them already. One of the foam covers ripped.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Defective cord
Bought this product recently for my third grader. Controls volume as advertised, though I still ask him to keep the volume below the max on his MP3 player. Unfortunately, the cord is not properly bonded to the miniplug, so only the wire is holding it together. I expect it to break entirely soon. It is clearly a manufacturing defect, not wear. Since these are not expensive enough to hassle with a return, I will try some glue. Generally, I expect better quality control from Sony.
