Rating: - Excellent sound
Sounds just as good as XM satellite radio. Easy to set up and use. Good reception with included antenna on FM. I get more stations than I have presets. Reception on AM is not as good, and there aren't as many stations. Radio loses settings after power outages.
Rating: - a disapointment
for some reasons this unit did not receive FM signals well at my home even after I connected it to a huge outdoor antenna. The sound is not listenable. It is much worse than a regular FM radio. I had to return it. May be just at my home. May be HD technology is not ready yet.
Rating: - Sony XDRF1HD, very nice
Very satisfied with the receiver. The is our first HD device, so we don't have much to compare it to, but it is easy to use, and the sound quality is super. Setting the preset buttons is simple. It's compact and that is nice, but the face is impossible to read from very far away, except for the time. We would purchase it again.
Rating: - high hopes...
I was thrilled to find a reasonable price on this unit. However, it's ability to receive FM is compromised and the HD is impossible. Rooftop dedicated RF antenna with no FM blocks...disappointing reception for sure. It's compact size is unique and utilitarian. Apart from poor performance, I like it. But then again, I like some empty cigar boxes too but they don't pull in RF freq either. I had a Sony STJ-75 previously and it worked well-prior to the lightening attack years ago that is.
Rating: - total bang for buck!
I got this unit and find that it will search and connect to many more HD radio stations than my more expensive Polk Audio system... The size is small and has a big legible led text screen. I bought some M-audio studiophile monitors and returned them after reading about the quality of Bose speakers, that were priced the same, $99.99 at a Bose store and though not exceedingly loud, the combination of this sony and the bose speakers is outstanding... I like to set the sleep function and or have HD presets to toggle through, or search through... Only one issue, which is the same for all ... Read More
