This is much lighter weight than the Lodge Logic Proc grill plate so if you have weak hands, this is much better for you. It's just as it appears in the photo. I don't think it can handle heat above medium but that should be okay since grilling recipes often require medium heat for ten minutes. I would never have been motivated to get a grill pan so I am lucky to have gotten a starter set even though I have to send the cocotte for replacement because it is chipped. $65 sold separately seems very pricey.
