This trivet is wonderful it works just as it was intended and designed to... it is a trivet designed to save your table from serving your meal in your functional and elegant STAUB heat retaining cast iron cookware. The magnetic holds very well to the bottom of your pot or pan, so long as your now swinging it around, after all enamel is supposed to be smooth finished and have a certain glide-over aspect. I received this as a free item when I purchesed my Staub Cocotte. So for free this items is very nice for a trivet. It has a very small magnet on the underside that works, but slides around when on the underside of the pot while being carried. It's also rather small for my 5Qt pot, but like i said as a free add in I can't complain, but I would not recommend buying it separately.
