The Sunbeam-Oster cool-mist humidifier solves this common problem by allowing you to breathe easier, especially at night. You simply fill the plastic tank (the size of a tipped-over gallon milk container) with water and rest the plug-in mist unit on top. The humidifier produces a thin stream of cool mist to wet down your air all night. The tank has a small dip, or tray, in the top, just in front of the mist outlet, for medications. This humidifier measures 13 by 11 by 7-1/2 inches and fits inconspicuously in a corner. The tank glows in the dark, so you're not likely to slam an unsuspecting toe into it in the middle of the night, but in any case, the motor unit twist-locks onto the tank for safety. Rating: - Easy Maintenance
This product produces a warm mist from a gallon and a half of water in the course of 24 hours. Used to humidify a small home, it requires adding more water at least twice. Major benefits are no more parts to purchase and has a self-cutoff when the water is low.
Rating: - SUNBEAM Steam Vaporizer
The vaporizer works fine, however, the description states that it will last for 12 hours but it does not. I don't know exactly how long it works but the machine is shut off when I wake up.

We bought this for our son's room when he had his first cold. It was OK, but is slow to humidify the room -- by morning, the room was fairly moist. However, if you open the door (perhaps to check on the little one) all the moisture escapes and you have to wait a few more hours before the room gets humid again. I am going to buy real humifier...
Rating: - does the job but hard to clean
I had this humidifier for about a year, and it recently stopped running. I took it apart and found that the wires had corroded. I practically had to break the thing to get it open, and you can't get the calcium deposits out of the inside except through this microscopic hole, so I ended up banging it against my kitchen sink every few nights to get it out. It does work--it's warm mist, and it's not too loud. It'll last you one or two nights if you turn it off in the morning. If you can't spend a lot of money, go ahead and get this one because it does the job--better than not having one at all.
Rating: - Works Well When Cleaned Properly
Our family has purchased several Sunbeam Vaporizers over the years and have had good luck with these units. The Larger-tank unit is a better deal as it holds more water. The unit produces steam which is why we buy them--steam helps to warm the air as it adds moisture and also kills any organisms in the water. More expensive cool-mist humidifiers do NOT kill bacteria and fungus and their cool mist cools the room temperature.
