Amazon.com Review: Most ovens, especially old ones, run hotter or colder than their set temperatures indicate. Rather than guessing how much to raise or lower the heat for a particular recipe, bake and roast with precision using a highly accurate oven thermometer like the Taylor Oven Guide. Made from durable, heavy-duty stainless steel, this mercury-free thermometer measures temperatures from 100 to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The large, easy-to-read face also provides Celsius markings and a heating zone guide as well. Dishwasher-safe, this thermometer can hang in the oven or stand alone. It's NSF listed for food hygiene and safety. --Mary Park

Rating: - Impressive
Until now I have always used oven thermometers with a glass front that eventually discolored or got food on them that baked on and wouldn't come off so you couldn't read the internal temp of the oven without opening the door all the way. This thermometer has large numbers, is easy to read and doesn't have a glass front that eventually clouds over. Price was reasonable, quality is great.
Rating: - ALWAYS STOPS WORKING
I have had several of these and they always stop working properly. Too bad someone doesn't come up with an oven thermometer that lasts.
Rating: - Useless - You can't Read It
It is hard to recommend a thermometer you can't read!!
This thermometer has to be tilted to a very precise angle in order to read it when it is new. Even then, your eyesight needs to be close to perfect to get a reading!
After a bit of routine cooking there will be deposits on its surface. Then you'll have a thermometer no one can read, even the eagle eyed.
I happily threw it away and purchased a Sunbeam 90300 with nice clear markings.
Rating: - Quality Talyor Oven Guide Thermometer
I have had this oven thermometer for four months now and it is fantastic. I have taken good care not to wash it with anything abrasive like steel wool and I have not lost the numbering system. It is easy to hang on any rack in the oven. My only complaint would be that the fluid be a different color so that the contrast would be greater between the fluid and the metal. It is hard to read it through the glass of the oven door.
Rating: - Useless after one washing
One month in the oven, one trip
through the dishwasher and it's a piece of
stained stainless steel with no markings.
One star for Taylor's audacity.
