Firm Cardio: Cardio Burn delivers a workout that tones and conditions with a variety of intensities and activities. Students will not be bored by this 50-minute session, as an array of training equipment is utilized to sculpt the muscles and elevate the heart rate. Aerobic routines and strength-building moves are performed with steps, small balls, and hand weights (three- to eight-pound weights are suggested for women and five to 15 for men). Choreography is simple and approachable during the cardio segments; however, participants with compromised backs, necks, or joints may want to modify their impact in this portion. Power movements that include plyometrics, kicks, and jumping jacks will make you break a sweat, but this portion may be difficult for some students to execute safely. Weightlifting and isometric exercises are spliced between these "cardio bursts" and use a full range of motion. A variety of lower-body exercises (like lunges, squats, and pliƩs) are done with attention to body alignment and proper form. The upper body is trained with the small ball (for isometric exercises) and hand weights (for curls and lateral lifting). This program's challenging and unique format, with its diverse approach to familiar exercises, will hold the attention of many participants. Cardio Burn works on many levels to improve fitness in this fun, innovative, and informative video. --Olivia Voigts

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Tough
This tape is tough and it burns major calories. I enjoyed it,but there was a little too much jumping around. Still, I found that it really works.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A good short challenge.
This is a great workout for those who are pressed for time and want to pack a lot of work into a short amount of time. However, the other reviewers are correct in that the footwork (especially on the lifter) is tricky. I have quite a few Firm workouts and have not had a previous problem with the choreography, but the speed at which Tamela works did pose a safety issue. That being said, this is a fun workout and the time goes quickly. You will need weights, a step (or fanny lifter). Although she uses a weighted ball, you can make do with a dumbbell. The first part of this workout (approx. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My favorite Firm workout!
This is my favorite of the Firm workouts (except for the old school Body Sculpting Basics with Susan Harris--nothing's better than that!) This is one of the few workouts I can do without getting bored; the time really flies. The cardio and sculpting exercises are really good and you'll definitely be feeling it the next day.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Really Tough...but Fun!!!
I found this video to be a great cardio workout and also a lot of fun. I was a little apprehensive about buying this video at first because of some of the negative reviews of the instructor. I am so glad that I went ahead and purchased this video now! I really enjoyed the instructors enthusiasm and her encouragement... Her "This is fun" comment did not bother me because she really looked like she was having fun...and I was too. I was looking for a Firm video with more cardio and this definitely fits the bill. It is very tough because you have toning work interspersed with the high, low, and ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Challenging, but FUN
I really enjoy this workout. It is really fun. Even though you are tired, you want to keep going because the moves are fun (i.e. bunny hops, plyos, hip swishes). It has a cheerleading kind of feel.
This was the first Firm video I bought about a year ago. Back then it was way too hard for me to do, but I liked the incorporation of the weights into a cardio workout. So I researched The Firm and eventually bought the Basic series of three videos. After a while they became boring and just looking at them made me want to role my eyes.
Then I tried Cardio Burn again and I could ... Read More
