Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A movie to view: a movie to own !
"High Road to China" is a classic. It had a great cast and good directing. The movie had action, adventure, comedy, danger, romance, and history. Tom Selleck is at his best. Bess Armstrong gives a stellar performance; as do Jack Weston, Wilford Brimley, et al. As with his movies, T.S's presence on the silver screen, doesn't overpower the other actors/actresses. It is a crime against good films not to view it, let alone not to own it !

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 'Classic' in every way
High Road to China -- captures viewer from the start. Drama, thriller, comedy, romance, cinematography, authenticity all combine to make a modern classic. I simply can't wait for another generation to see and fall in love with this timeless adventure. It simply gets better with time. Adored this movie when I was 30 and love it more now that I am 50 something.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - DVD
Tom Selleck - One of the most popular actors ever!

It's been over 16 years since the movie's release!

The scenery is great! The actors are great! The flying is great!

For "crying out loud" .... Release the DVD!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Strange circumstances
Having lost the role of Indiana Jones thanks to MAGNUM PI, Tom Selleck inherited this project with Bess Armstrong that had originally been intended for Roger Moore and Bo Derek. Entertaining but not much more than that.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Fun Movie
This is an unpretentious movie that is great fun to watch. The duo Amstrong/Selleck works very well and the photography is superb. With all due respect to "Raiders of the Lost Ark", the plot of "High Road to China" is much more credible; it was the 1920's and there was truly a war between British India and Afghan chieftains. There were also warlords ravaging China as the movie depicts. And any woman has to love the ending - "I should have sold you while I could".

Although "High Road to China" has not been produced by the major studios, it is available in a "universal" DVD format which ... Read More
