Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Revealing more than just history - but human nature
I watched this amazing Nova documentary in awe. In part because 'yes' it finally puts to rest the controversy/legend of Princess Anastasia somehow surviving her execution along with the rest of the Romanov royal family. But awe because viewers are given an insight to the fanatical belief systems of people who are so heavily invested in a myth that, even when given irrefutable proof, they *choose* their myth instead. Shades and premonitions of OJ's jury abound.

It goes beyond stunning when you compare the video interviews of the proponents at the start of the documentary stating that ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Interesting.
Interesting--a nice little thing about how Grand Duchess Anastsasia Nikolaevna did NOT survive and Anna Anderson was indeed Franciska Shanzkovska.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - anastasia
this was a very interesting tape. It was nice to hear from an actual member of the family(rostislav romanov}. It was good to finally hear someone say that mrs anderson was not anastasia, Contrary to what a previous reviewer said the tissue DID NOT go missing no one knew it existed and so noone bothered to look for it. if you wdant to know more about the REAL anastasia read something by robert massie. I would advise anyone NOT to read gleb botkin or peter kurth or james blair lovell. they may have had good intentions and truly belived anderson but their books are tainted by a gullible willingness ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Poor research, outdated information
Much of the "discoveries" discussed in this video are either false (not intentional, they just didn't really do their homework) or very much outdated. The relative of the Polish factory worker was related to Fransziska through her father, not her mother. This video also does not discuss the fact that Anderson's tissue went missing for some months, then suddenly was "found". There is much more to this story, and if you want to learn the truth, this is not a good place to start. Some of the early, original books, such as the one by Gleb Botkin, or anything by Peter Kurth are far more enlightening.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great!
I was thrilled with this movie. I first saw it when I was eight (I had some nightmares involving the czar and Anastasia's bones below my window), and thoroghly enjoyed it. This video proved that Anna Anderson was not who she claimed to be-the grand duchess Anastasia Romanov-but a polish factory worker. While many Anderson phonatics claim that the tissue tested was not Anna Andersons, it is just ridiculous to think that not only did the tissue not match Prince Philips (the tsarina's great nephew), but matched Karl ?, the great nephew of the Polish factory worker Anderson's picture matched ...
