Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not as bad as I thought.
In reading some of the previous reviews, I thought I had made a terrible mistake in getting this video. While I certainly wouldn't call it the best, it's not quite as bad as some people thought. Charlie Brown is clearly at the first birthday party, so I don't understand why that got past the writers and editors. I wouldn't pay original price, but if you or your kids like Peanuts, it's a nice change from the more traditional specials. Pick up a used copy-it's worth $2-3.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It Was My Best Birthday Ever, Charlie Brown
If you compare this release to the other classic Peanuts shorts, it is unbelievable how bad it is. Do not waste your money on this one. There are clearly several mistakes that are very clear, Linus rollerblades through 5 minutes of the cartoon and the animation is reused. You see the same scenes over again during this sequence. They were clearly reaching for a story line to fill the 25 minutes. We keep saying that it is so different than the others that Shultz could'nt have been involved in the production because how could he allow this to be released. Sorry, but as you can tell my family ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It's a waste of your money
I don't understnd this movie. First Charlie asks Sally how the 1st party was. He was right there dancing! They don't tell how old Linus was or who the birthday kid at the 1st party was. Another thing, were is Peppermint Patty?! She is one of my favorite characters and if you ask me, I think this speical is nothing without her. I can understand her and Marcie making brief appearances, but just Marcie without Peppermint Patty? It dosen't seem like a Schulz-type movie to me.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - My kids liked this one
I noticed some grown-ups didn't like this video. Well, my kids like it well enough. It must be the mystery and innocence of childhood.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not ready for this one!!!
How excited we were when we found a "new" Peanuts video!! We couldn't wait to show our kids a new video of Charlie Brown and the gang. Well, in my opinion, this one falls way short of expectations. The music isn't the great classical pieces of the old specials and the story is uninteresting. My 6 year old even spotted a mistake... Charlie Brown is obviously at the first birthday party (you can't miss that shirt!!), but he asked Sally how the party was... as if he weren't there. Stick to the originals!!
