My sisters & I watched Monster Squad until the VHS wore out when we were younger. I got this copy for my girls to watch for Halloween & they loved it to. Yes, it's cheesy, silly, and all those other things - but it's also a fun little movie with enough monsters to be scary, but enough laughs to make it fun.

I am 32 and I still quote lines from this movie. This is another kids movie classic that has been buried since its time of fame. This is a movie that kids today can watch and get addicted to, such as I did back in the day.

Ah, The Monster Squad. That box office bomb that became a classic to us horror fans. That cute modern day homage to Universal monster flicks and the Little Rascals. If you haven't seen it, someone should kick you in the nards.
Fred Dekker was a fresh and unique talent to the horror world, but seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth(in the documentary on Disc 2 he says that The Monster Squad is the film that killed his career, and that he killed it again by directing Robocop 3. This classic monster movie from the 1980's blends the best of the monster movie villains to delight and scare those who may be afraid of the dark. I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes horror/comedy/cult classic films like the Goonies.
