Rating: - Reincarnate this on DVD!!
I saw this in the theater in '75 and I've never forgotten it. An excellent reincarnation movie that feels very realistic!! Michael Sarrazin is a veteran actor but this is the film I remember him from the most (along with "Gumball Rally"! - I can't believe it's not yet on DVD.

THE REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD is most deserving of DVD release, so let's hope that it happens soon. It boasts a wonderful Jerry Goldsmith score (which, I believe, has never been issued on LP or CD) and fine performances by Michael Sarrazin, Margot Kidder and Jennifer O'Neill. I remember seeing this in a theatre in its original 1975 release and admiring it even then. The direction by J. Lee Thompson (GUNS OF NAVARONE, MACKENNA'S GOLD and the original CAPE FEAR) is sure, the cinematography by Victor J. I saw this movie in the 70's and have always wanted to see it again (to be sure it was as good as I thought it was as a teenager). It was different from other movies in that I always have remembered it to be one of my favorites. I would love to see it again - this time on dvd.

Really interesting movie. Why can't they make movies like this anymore? I remember seeing it and being totally engrossed. I would love to see it again but if it doesn't come out on DVD I'm not sure I will. How do we get Amazon to help us release this on DVD?

I viewed this movie over 25 yrs ago. I never forgot it. It seemed to have a where and when and how was this possible effect. The movie keeps your attention throughout and after it's over you wonder about all the possibilities of how anything like this could ever be and the depth of the imagination of the writer and the director. Now, when I view a 70's movie, I find that many were corny and predictable. Perhaps this is one of the reasons this film sets itself apart.
