Regarding Claustrophobia:
I have been told that there are many woman out there LIKE ME who need to sleep with a force of air in their face. The temperature is irrelevant. Due to unfortunate circumstances (victimization) - usually in childhood, we need to have air at night, straight in our face. On the lowest setting, this fan gives the perfect amount of air (not too much, not too little), minimal noise (good white noise) to keep me happy and feeling safe and not claustrophobic. I've owned a number of fans. This is by far the most versatile. It can be pointed straight up to give the effect of a ceiling fan, a position I often use during sleep to provide a little air movement and white noise. Or it can be straight ahead or an angle in between. Most often I put it in the window to blow air in and on at least two occasions it's fallen out onto the floor without damage. It's just a very solid fan and I'm intending to buy a second one for even more air flow on those days when blowing in outside air can avoid the use of the A/C.

This appliance is a little marvel: elegant design, barely audible, much more discrete than a ceiling fan and very efficient to recuperate the hot air trapped under our 14 feet roof.
