Rating: - If only it lasted longer...
This was the perfect heater for our baby's room until it broke. It only lasted one season. According to many other reviews, that seems to be the way these things work. I was about to go out and buy another but after reading all these reviews, I don't plan on spending $60-80 each winter to repace it. I would pay a bit more for this heater if they could get it to last longer than a year. But until this company produces a higher quality product, I won't be buying from them again.
Rating: - Loud and unreliable
I've owned this Vornado model for about a year and a half. I've already had to return it once because the on/off switch stopped functioning (not damaged, just stopped working). Paid Vornado $45 for the repair.
Recently, the fan has started getting much louder to where I really can't run it at night and still sleep. I'm either looking at another $45 repair or tossing it and buying a new heater. If I do replace, it likely won't be with another Vornado.

Good product.. Very quiet.. If you are looking for just raw heating this product is not the best. Doesn't blow a ton of heat out. I have bought space heaters for 20 bucks that blow more raw heat at the same wattage. It can hold the temp in a normal sized bedroom after a few hours of operation. Its strength is the low noise. Drawback is there is no timer so if you fall asleep while its on you will use electricity all night..

AS PREVIOUSLY NOTED, THERE IS AN ODOR WHEN FIRST TURNING THE UNIT ON, BUT IS NO WORSE THAN THE ODOR FROM OUR STEAM RADIATORS WHEN THEY FIRST GET HOT. IT REALLY HEATS UP A ROOM QUICKLY AND IS VERY QUIET! VERY GLAD WE GOT IT, WILL GET ANOTHER ONE IF HEATING BILLS GET TOO MUCH HIGHER.

This is truly the best space heater I've ever owned, and I've tried them all! It is ultra lightweight, stays cool to the touch, and keeps toddlers' fingers out of the heating area. Just program the temperature that you desire, and it meticulously keeps it that way in the room. It shows you the actual room temperature, the programmed temp., and the setting it's on (low/hi, or just the fan.) Worth every cent that it costs.
