Editorial Review:

Product Description:
A pot that can be used on top of the range, as well as in the heating base of the appliance offers plenty of options. The cover allows you to cook with moist heat, and to cook things like burgers, fried dumplings, and eggs more quickly. Whether you like to cook for an audience at the table, or feel burner-challenged when it comes to cooking meals for company, you'll find this an easy to use, handy appliance.

Amazon.com Review:
Terrific for conveniently cooking one-pot meals or baking, this 1300-watt appliance prepares stews, rice dishes, soups, shabu-shabu, pancakes, fried noodles, and many other dishes on the countertop or at the table. The cooking pot, which lifts off the heating plate, holds 10 cups and measures 10 inches in diameter. It's coated in titanium-ceramic nonstick rugged enough to be safe with metal utensils. (The pot can safely be placed on a stovetop gas burner as long as there's liquid in the pot.) The unit's cooking range is 280-460 degrees F (140 to 240 degrees C), and there's also a keep-warm temperature of 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). The bottom section housing the heating plate is clad in gray plastic, matching the cooking pot's nonstick coating, with the cooking pot's stay-cool handles providing stylish black accents. Overall, the oval unit measures 14-1/2 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches high, including the pot's see-through glass lid. --Fred Brack

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - No Cliche... This is a Must Have Kitchen Appliance
I acquired an All-Clad Slow Cooker about 6 months ago and was pleased enough the couple of times I used it. About two weeks after that I got the Zojirushi Electric Skillet. Having used it extensively over the past half year, I think it should be called something other than an electric skillet. It is so versatile.

That All-Clad Slow Cooker I mentioned has sat unused all this time. I turn up the heat on my Zoji, brown the beef, deglaze and add the other ingredients, then I turn down the heat and use it to slow cook while I am at work. I come home to a wonderful meal, and as others have ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love this skillet
This skillet is such a big improvement over traditional electric skillets.
1) Size is perfect for a small family. Deep sides mean you can cook a variety of things.
2) Super easy clean-up, because the skillet separates from the base. You can submerge the skillet part in water if you need too, and it's easy to move around in your sink (as opposed to the large, awkard skillets that you have to try to clean--base and all--without screwing up the electrics.)
3) I've cooked a variety of meals in this--braised short ribs, chili, omelets, etc. Heat is very even, though you need to watch things ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Electric skillet
So perfect for cooking for at least a family of four. I absolutely LOVE this skillet. Non- stick, easy clean up. Dishwasher safe. I had "dried-on" cheese in this skillet overnight, and it came off with NO effort! I would love a dozen of these. Do not give this product a second thought about getting, just get it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My New Best Friend
After doing some online research and finding that using an electric skillet is more energy efficient than an electric stove I decided to buy one. This looked like the best deal anywhere, yes it is pricey, but, I feel worth the price.

I've never used an electric skillet before so am having fun getting to know it. I love that I can remove the pan for cleaning, and this cleans incredibly fast!

As another reviewer remarked, the size is practical for a one or two person household. It depends on what you want to cook, it's plenty big enough to make scrambled eggs or a side dish ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - good stuff.
I did bought one and used it for "hotpot" style cooking and agree with others here that it did heat up (boiling) really fast and
is very easy to clean up.
It's a good product just like the rice cooker I have that is of the same brand that had lasted for 5 yrs and still running.
