Amazon.com Review: Winner of the RedDot design award in 2005, this Zyliss rotary grater set makes traditional stand-up models look like relics. Two interchangeable rotary drums with large, clog-free barrels click in and out of the white plastic housing to transition easily between fine and coarse grating. The large handle flips open to store the uncut cheese and features a non-slip thumb rest for a safe, secure hold. Just turn the barrel lever with the other hand, and the tool works its magic. For serving directly onto salads or pasta dishes, the snap-in funnel directs the cheese to go right where it's intended. When not in use, the compact grater folds down to store neatly in a kitchen drawer. All parts go safely in the dishwasher--no more reaching into awkward, sharp places to clean up. A favorite among professional chefs, this modern tool is sure to become a kitchen favorite as it grates hard cheese, nuts, or chocolate. It measures approximately 7-1/4 by 3-1/2 by 10-1/4 inches and comes with a five-year limited warranty. --Kara Karll

Rating: - It Works!
I have had a lot of graters over the years, some eat up your knuckles and some wore out our arm. This grater is like their old one but it's 1999% better. It's not falling apart when you put the peddleto the metal and stands up to the softest or hardes of cheeses. Try it you'll love it. I'm buying some as gifts I know I'll get a lot of thank yous.
Rating: - cheese grater
I love it. I bought it for my husband and he thinks that it is the "best thing since sliced bread". He loves it. It grates fine and thick cheese. It is great.
Rating: - Zyliss doesn't deliver the zing hoped for
I've gone through 2 Pampered Chef cheese graters so I thought I'd like to try something new. I ask every Italian waiter I see what brand they use and why they like it. Zyliss was highly recommended. I have to say, I am a little disappointed. It is not as easy to use as the Pampered Chef, though I do like how easy it is to take apart. I have small hands and perhaps that is the problem. I have a hard time getting enough pressure on the handle to grate easily. The knob for turning the grater is really cheap and keeps flopping around. It should lock, but doesn't. I'm sure for bigger hands, ... Read More
Rating: - Great for shredding hard cheese
I bought this to shred Grana Padano (after Costco stopped carrying the pre-shredded Grana). Works like a charm. No more risk to your fingers, no more problems with crumbling cheese that becomes too small to shred. Really fast (2 to 3 times as fast as a regular manual shredder) and effortless.

This was my third rotary grater. The plastic ones seem to break, and I lost my metal one in a move. This particular Zyliss one was by far the least comfortable to use, although it did grate things well and left the smallest "cheese remainder" of the three. The handle snapped off after about 6 months of light use.
