Wow, I can't believe the fervor over finding the perfect ice cream scoop! It almost compares to the search for a better mousetrap.
That said, this scoop is a good one. It is made very strongly and is well balanced to make scooping your ice cream easier, even when it's frozen hard. The thickness of the metal in the scoop part helps to melt the ice cream as you scoop into it. Heating it a bit in hot water would help as well. Rating: - The only scoop to use
This ice cream scoop is nothing like any other scoop I have or have used. It has a good amount of weight on the head of the scoop that seems to help with going into the ice cream. The handle fits perfectly in the hand and is made of a solid material that does seem like it will last even with a lot of pushing on it. What I like about it is that the front edge of the scoop cuts into the ice cream very easily and turns nice shaped scoops of ice cream. The way it handles makes it a breeze to serve even hard ice cream. I wish I would have bought this thing a long time ago.

This is a great little ice cream scoop. It is able to dig into hard ice cream much better than the traditional round scoop. I still have to leave the ice cream out a little while if it really hard before it can be scooped, but this works much better than my old one.
