The heater arrived within a week of ordering. The controls on the heater would not control the heat settings. The heater did heat and did move the heated air around the room. I would have kept the heater had the controls worked.

Rating: - Dependable and Efficient Heat
This heater is excellent! I just use the lcd screen to input the desired temperature and decide on High or Low heat, and the heater does the rest. This heater keeps my bedroom comfortable, and I wouldn't expect it to heat any more than a medium sized bedroom. I like the non drying kind of heat the Vornado's put out, as opposed to, say, the scorching heat of a reflective heater (though it has its purpose). The thermostat is accurate, which is very rare for many of the heaters I have bought in the past. Many times the rotary style thermostats of heaters in this price range fluatuate wildly as to when it will turn on and off. Not so with this digital thermostat. Overall, it's a nice heater for the price and it performs its task beautifully.

Rating: - Best Portable Heater I've Tried
I have an uninsulated porch with sliding glass doors all around. I was looking for a portable heater that could extend our use of the porch when it's cooler. I tried three other units before I bought this one. Definitely the best one by far. It will get the porch temperature about 15-20 degrees above the outside temperature, so it's helpful for spring and fall. (Works even better in the house.)

It's relatively quiet and cool to the touch.

Rating: - Vornado Vortex Heater
I bought this to replace the old one that finally gave up the ghost. I like the digital but found 1 thing which was a problem. When you have a power failure, you have to turn it back on again. The old one was on with a mechanical switch and when the power came back on, so did the heater. I can't rely on this one for those times when I need the heat after the power is restored and I am not there at the time to turn it back on.

This is perfect for my office and manages the temperature much better than the building.
