Rating: - PERFECT TRASH CAN!
This is a great trash can. It is my second one - I purchased my first one about a year and half ago, last month the hinge on the lid broke. Just had to get another one. I love the hands free, no touching the lid and it is so quiet not to mention the stylish stainless steel that goes with everything in my kitchen. The batteries seem to last forever, still using the batteries from the first one. All my friends have commented on it and wanted to know where I got it. Great product - highly recommend it!

Rating: - Battery door fell off
The battery door is on the bottom of the lid. Apparently ours was loose, and gravity did the rest. Being right above the trash, it went to the dumpster with everything else. This can uses "D" cells.. They're quite heavy and don't tape very well to the bottom of the lid. Too bad they didn't place the battery door on the top or back!

Rating: - Convenient and Sanitary
Before buying this two years ago, I always used trash bins with a foot pedal. They never worked particularly well, so I would end up lifting the lid by hand from time to time to toss something in. Clearly, touching a trash can lid isn't the most sanitary thing to do during food prep.

Additionally, trash bags are held securely in place so the bin doesn't become messy over time.

I've found that batteries last almost a year and use a set of rechargeables for the task.

The only people I wouldn't recommend this to are people who own large dogs. Easy access to snacks may a bit too tempting for Fido.

Rating: - Good while it lasted.....the hinge broke
I had this for 6 month and was pretty pleased with it. Then the hinge broke making this into an expensive regular open-top trash can. Replacing the top assembly is an expensive option to repair this. I will just pick up a 'normal' foot operated trash can next time.

Rating: - Stainless steel carbage can
I wanted a hands free garbage can to use for recycling items. This is the perfect solution. It stays clean and it will hold a large amount of recyclables or garbage. I am still using the original batteries. The only thing I can say that is even close to a negative comment is that if you place it near a traffic pattern in your home, it will open every time someone walks by.
